New Community Director elected to the Low Carbon Hub Board

Following a recent election, the community group members of Low Carbon Hub’s CIC have elected a new Community Director to the Board of Directors: Nina Alphey.

Nina is a long-term member of Westmill Solar Co-operative Ltd and has served on its Board since 2016. She was also an active member of low carbon community group Kidlington vs Climate Change until 2014.

As Community Director on the Board, Nina’s main focus will be on achieving benefit for our communities and representing the interests of the community shareholder groups. She is also interested in encouraging partnerships with academic institutions to support research, in particularly in relation to renewable energy and climate change mitigation.

Nina will serve on the Board for a two-year term. Welcome Nina!

We’d also like to take this opportunity to offer a huge thank you to the outgoing Community Director, Liz Reason, for the time she has spent on the Board. Liz has been instrumental in encouraging the Hub to pursue a retrofit programme for Oxfordshire, work that is currently going ahead through the OxFutures programme and we look forward to continuing to work with Liz on this project. Her passion for reducing energy demand has fed through to the whole Hub Board and staff team.
