202610:30 – 13:45Low Carbon Hub OfficesFuture boundaries – How far should we go for community owned energy?
This event is for Low Carbon Hub community group members.
We warmly invite all our community groups to join Low Carbon Hub for our in-person Great Big Green Week energising debate and lunch.
Great big changes are coming to the local geography of Oxfordshire with three Local Government Reorganisation options, and as a community energy organisation we want to be prepared and ready to lead on what the transition brings, and we need your help!
We’ll share our understanding of what we think the proposed changes involve but we’d love to hear our community groups’ fresh ideas on how they plan to respond to the challenges, and how they would like Low Carbon Hub to approach the different options.
We’ll be using maps, games, a human pipeline and lively conversation!
We’ll be discussing:
- What it means to be a Low Carbon Hub community group shareholder and how you see the Hub’s role in community owned energy.
- Reviewing our strategy in the light of new government policy, developments in new technologies, and proposed Local Government Reorganisation.
- Our project pipeline and future opportunities, including battery storage and ground-mount solar.
- How far we go geographically to open new pipelines.
- How far should the community benefit be shared?
Don’t worry if it all sounds exhausting, we’ll re-energise over a delicious lunch from Damascus Rose Kitchen and if the weather’s good we can eat outside by the river.
Please join us and share your thoughts before we publish our final Strategic Plan at the AGM in October 2026.
