Local Environment Action Florence Park

A friendly environmental group in Florence Park, south-east Oxford

Local Environmental Action Florence Park (LEAF) works on practical local projects to help people save energy and support wildlife. Past projects include planting wildlife-friendly flower beds, putting up swift boxes to help reverse the decline in swifts, and sharing advice on helping hedgehogs. The group has also worked on saving energy at home through thermal imaging and insulation, and campaigned on air pollution.

They have run a climate café, where people can talk through their worries about climate change, and a series of Act Now workshops on home energy, food, transport, money and waste.

LEAF has recently relaunched, with plans for more action soon. It’s free to join, and new members and ideas are always welcome.
