Henley Climate Emergency Working Group
Henley Town Council declared a Climate Emergency in 2019, bringing together councillors and local residents to find practical ways to reduce Henley’s carbon footprint.
The group has been instrumental in rolling out the Solar Streets project, enabling entire streets to install solar panels at a discounted rate, working closely with fellow Low Carbon Hub community group Greener Henley on the initiative.
They are also working to retrofit existing homes and to set low-carbon standards for new buildings, as well as funding energy efficiency grants for schools following energy audits.
Longer-term ambitions include planting 1,000 trees a year for ten years and creating an electric vehicle charging infrastructure across key streets in the town.
