What will it take to make your home better?
The tools are there. The information is there. In many cases, the funding is there too. The only thing missing is taking that first step.
Making your home more comfortable, cheaper to run, and better to live in isn’t always as complicated or expensive as you might think. Homewise is a free online tool that shows you exactly what’s possible for your home – before you commit to anything, before anyone comes round, before you spend a penny. You just need to know where you stand.
It’s independent, and it takes ten minutes. Tell it about your home and it gives you a clear, personalised picture – what’s worth doing, what it would cost, what you could save, and what grants are available to you right now in Oxfordshire.
Nobody will try to sell you anything. Nobody will tie you into anything. It’s just practical information – and information gives you choices.

Because that’s what this is about – you, your home, your choices. Once you know what’s possible, you can decide what to do and when. Maybe it’s a quick win this weekend – draught-proofing your external doors or adjusting your hot water timer. Maybe it’s a bigger project you start budgeting for. Either way, you’ll know more than you did ten minutes ago.
Homewise is built and run by the Energy Saving Trust, an independent charitable organisation dedicated to promoting energy efficiency. It’s backed by all six Oxfordshire councils – Cherwell, Oxford City, Oxfordshire County, South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, and West Oxfordshire – who have come together to make this service available to every resident in the county, for free.
It’s a great first step to understanding what’s possible for your home. And if you’re ready to go further – whether you’re thinking about insulation, heat pumps, retrofit, or just want to understand your options – we have plenty of practical advice and guides on the Low Carbon Hub website to help you take the next step.
So, what will it take? Ten minutes. That’s really it. Once you have the information, you’ll know what’s possible, what it costs, and what help is available. Over to you to decide what you’d like to prioritise.
