Prodrive's community owned rooftop solar installation by Low Carbon Hub, Oxfordshire

Not just solar power. Social impact power!

Turn your roof into a clean energy source that powers your business – and your community.

When it comes to solar panels, you’ve probably heard the pitch before: save money, cut carbon, future-proof your business. And it’s all true. But not all solar providers are the same.

We install, fund, and manage rooftop solar for Oxfordshire businesses – at no cost to you. You get discounted, clean electricity. Oxfordshire communities get the benefit.

At Low Carbon Hub, we’re a social enterprise. We’re building a smarter, fairer energy system for Oxfordshire – and we reinvest 100% of our surplus in local community projects. That means your solar installation won’t just cut costs and carbon – it also helps to fund:

  • Community-energy projects across Oxfordshire
  • Grassroots action to tackle fuel poverty and climate change
  • Energy efficiency advice for homeowners, schools, and businesses

Our rooftop solar programme is designed to make clean energy simple for businesses – and meaningful for communities.

  • No upfront costs – we fund the system, including design, installation, and maintenance
  • Discounted electricity – buy clean energy at a lower rate than your current supplier
  • Fully managed solution – we handle everything, from insurance to servicing
  • Lasting community benefit – every penny of our profits goes back into community-led projects across Oxfordshire

From helping households reduce energy bills through our Energy Advice Programme to supporting over 50 community groups with advice, funding and training, your solar installation becomes part of a wider movement for change.

Take Norbar Torque Tools, a leading manufacturer based in Banbury. They’ve partnered with us not once, but three times – resulting in a total of 1 MW of rooftop solar PV installed across their site.

The result? Clean, reliable, discounted electricity for their operations – and funding for wider community benefit. Thanks to Norbar, and other businesses and schools like them, we have been able to invest more into our community impact programme. This means more energy-saving advice, support for communities and innovation work to progress towards the zero carbon energy system we need.

As of last year, we had invested £1million of the profit from our renewable energy projects into community benefit. That’s a lot of impact being funded.

As Phil Barrett from Norbar puts it: “It’s not just the right thing to do environmentally – it’s a great partnership for our business and our community.

Solar should work for your organisation – and for the wider community. By generating clean energy on site, you’ll cut costs, reduce carbon, and support a fairer, low-carbon future for Oxfordshire.
