jOB VACANCY: Local Authority Liaison Officer
If you’re passionate about creating a fair, sustainable energy future, then we’d love to hear from you. We’re hiring a Local Authority Liaison Officer who will play a pivotal role in supporting the prioritisation and delivery of hyperlocal place-based projects that support the transition to a zero-carbon energy system.
Working closely with project delivery and community engagement colleagues, you’ll ensure that our place-based work is credible, empowering and delivering meaningful change on the ground.
You’ll be working alongside passionate project and engagement managers who are delivering real impact on the ground, from community energy events to thermal imaging campaign training, from SME energy efficiency assessments and funding to coordinating innovative Community Action Plans for Net Zero Energy Systems.

About the role
You’ll be leading our engagement with local authorities in relation to the delivery of our Community Action Plans and the development of our methodologies for prioritisting where we delivery them, how we create and facilitate implementation of them. Our partner local authorities in Oxfordshire are about to go through a reorganisation process, so you will be at the heart of maintaining and building our relationships and partnership working with them at a critical period.
Responsibilities will include…
✅ Building partnerships with councils and communities to accelerate the transition to net zero.
✅ Helping to turn local climate ambitions into practical projects, programmes and action plans.
✅ Joining up local authority needs with Low Carbon Hub’s data, insights and local knowledge to identify opportunities and shape place-based solutions.
✅ Developing funding opportunities, partnerships and projects that deliver real impact.

A great role for someone who thrives on collaboration, engagement and creating positive change at a local level.
At Low Carbon Hub, we’re a small but mighty social enterprise. We thrive on agility, adaptability, and impact. If you share our passion for meaningful change, love working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, and want to be part of a team that’s making a tangible difference, we’d love to hear from you.
