Energy Solutions Oxfordshire
Helping small Oxfordshire organisations cut energy costs and carbon emissions.

Wasted energy is wasted money. Energy Solutions Oxfordshire (ESOx) helps businesses, schools, colleges, charities and community buildings find out where they’re losing energy, and what to do about it.
The project is on a mission is to help your organisation – whether it is a business, school, college, or community village hall – to reduce its energy costs, cut carbon emissions, and demonstrate commitment to the fight against climate change.

If you run a small or medium-sized (SME) business in Oxfordshire, you can apply for a free, in-person energy assessment, normally worth £1,500. You can also apply for up to £10,000 in match-funding for energy efficiency measures through our Green Fund.
On average, organisations save 19% on their energy bills after an assessment from our experts.
To help organisations get started on their energy-saving journey, ESOx has developed a free Workplace Energy Efficiency Checklist. It sets out low-cost, quick-win actions that can be implemented right away.

To make a significant cut in our carbon emissions, we need to swiftly tackle the high energy consumption of our buildings. This involves ramping up energy efficiency and cutting down on overall energy demand.
We’re thrilled to be a partner in this innovative project, helping Oxfordshire organisations implement energy efficiency measures, thereby reducing their costs and carbon emissions.

How ESOx started
ESOx was developed with government funding through a collaboration between Energy Pro Group, Low Carbon Hub, and Oxford Brookes University.
The energy finance specialists at Energy Pro consultancy understood that the best way to engage organisations with energy efficiency work is through trusted, local support – equipping local organisations with the knowledge and tools to deliver energy efficiency projects. They brought into the partnership an understanding of internationally established good practices.
The ESOx project won highly competitive funding from the Boosting Access for SMEs to Energy Efficiency (BASEE) programme run by the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). This funding formed part of the Government’s Clean Growth Strategy, a commitment to enable businesses to improve their energy efficiency by at least 20% by 2030.
The ESOx service is delivered by Low Carbon Hub in partnership with EIE (Environmental Information Exchange), Oxford Brookes University, whose team provides energy auditing, feasibility studies, and project management. Together, we were the first to use the ESCO-in-a-Box toolkit, a ready-made model for setting up a local energy efficiency service, and set up ESOx to test it.
