Wood Green School

Wood Green Secondary School in Witney had 200 solar panels installed on their roof, owned and managed by Low Carbon Hub.

The school has around 1000 pupils, and had already been doing great work engaging them in environmental issues through eco days and competitions. As well as achieving Eco Schools silver flag status, one of their school eco-teams recently won a county-wide competition with their eco business idea of upcyling school litter into jewellery.

The school wanted to add to this work by enabling the school to generate green electricity, reduce the community’s carbon footprint and inspire pupils to learn more about energy and climate change – through installing solar on their roof.

The Low Carbon Hub is very grateful to local community group Sustainable Witney for their support of this initiative.
