The group believes strongly in the power of people working together locally. In response to the declaration of a climate emergency, they formed a town-wide Climate and Ecology Action group, which led to the creation of an Eco Buddy scheme – enabling households, streets and workplaces to share responsibility and take a co-ordinated approach to reducing carbon.

Following a survey of residents across the area, the group launched several initiatives that local people could take part in straight away, including a thriving community allotment based on permaculture principles, a Plastics Action group and a Clean Air for Chippy campaign to keep polluting heavy vehicles away from the narrow town centre streets.

They work closely with fellow Low Carbon Hub community group Hook Norton Low Carbon, sharing a car club and offering low or interest-free loans for households to install energy-efficient measures at home or at work.
