Sustainable Blewbury

Sustainable Blewbury is a community action group set up to explore ways in which the village can adapt to a low carbon way of living. They prioritise raising awareness of climate change by concentrating activities around 5 main themes:

• Energy – The aims of the Blewbury Energy Initiative are to reduce energy consumption in buildings and encourage the use of renewable energy sources. They have a regular thermal imaging project and have carried out thermal imaging of over 200 homes in Blewbury.
• Travel and Transport
• Food and Farming through promoting local food production
• Reduce, Re-use and Recycle
• Natural Environment and Heritage – The aim is to protect Blewbury’s history especially its local streams and springs.

They have formed a new climate emergency group with Blewbury Parish Council called Blewbury Climate Action .
