We are inviting our community groups to nominate their candidate for the post of Communities Director to the Low Carbon Hub for a three-year term, starting in October 2024.

Low Carbon Hub has been lucky to have Al Kitchen as our elected Communities Director for an extended period of four years, and his final term concludes in October. Al stepped in for an extra year in 2023 to ensure the closing down of the CIC organisation ran as smoothly as possible. He did a fabulous job representing communities on the board of Low Carbon Hub, and we are now inviting nominations for the post for the next three-year term.

Our community groups are at the heart of Low Carbon Hub and the elected role of Communities Director is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making community energy a part of our everyday lives.

Being part of a support network provides our community groups with a strong position to tackle climate change and turn innovative ideas into action. The Communities Director acts as a portal between our communities and Low Carbon Hub directors, and whoever is nominated and elected will bring the unique perspective of community groups to an enthusiastic and committed team.

If you are a member of a low carbon community group, we encourage you to share this opportunity with your members to see if there are any enthusiastic candidates who might be keen to throw their hat into the ring.

Don’t worry if your nominated candidate lacks board level experience, as training will be offered, and this year the elected Communities Director role will attract a remuneration if they are subsequently elected to the Low Carbon Hub IPS board at the AGM in October 2024.
