Energy Saving Homes returns as part of the much-loved annual Oxford Open Doors weekend, 13–14 September 2025.
Led by Low Carbon Oxford North, with Communities for Zero Carbon Oxford and in partnership with the Oxford Preservation Trust, this unique event opens up homes across the city that have been upgraded to cut energy use and carbon emissions.
Unlike the traditional Oxford Open Doors locations, Energy Saving Homes showcases ordinary homes where people have taken practical steps to improve comfort and reduce bills. From simple draught proofing to wall and loft insulation, solar panels and battery storage, heat pumps, and triple glazing, you’ll see what’s possible – and hear directly from the homeowners who did it.

Visit homes in your neighbourhood and see retrofit measures in action

Hear first-hand from homeowners about what worked, what was difficult, and what they learned along the way

Ask questions and sometimes meet the contractors involved
Cosy Homes Oxfordshire will be featuring several homes as part of the programme, offering further insight into how expert guidance and local contractors can help make energy upgrades a success.
