Match funding will double the next £60k of investment!

We have some exciting news: two organisations have stepped up to provide £60,000 in match funding to back our Ray Valley Solar battery share offer.
We Have the POWER have contributed £30,000, and another institutional funder has committed a further £30,000. This means the next £60,000 invested will be matched pound for pound, instantly doubling the impact of every investment made.
We’re closing in on our target
When that next £60,000 comes in and the match funding is added, we’ll pass our initial £500,000 target. That’s a real milestone, but we’d love to go even further. Every additional pound raised means more of this battery project will be in community hands.
Why now is a great time to invest
With match funding in place and an installation date on the horizon later in 2026, this is a particularly compelling moment to get involved. Your support will make sure more of this battery is community-owned and reduce our reliance on loans.

About the project
We’re raising funds for the UK’s first community-owned battery storage system, co-located at Ray Valley Solar: our ground-mount solar park that already generates enough clean energy to power around 7,000 homes a year.
Right now, on the sunniest days, surplus energy that can’t be exported to the grid is simply lost. The battery changes that. It will:
- Recover 809 MWh of clean energy currently going to waste each year – enough to power around 300 more homes
- Save an additional 102 tonnes of carbon from being emitted
- Increase the community benefit funding generated by the site by over £1 million
The Community Energy Fund is open to individuals, charities, and other organisations that want to support clean energy projects that benefit our communities.
