Our energy support for organisations in Oxfordshire
We’ve now supported over 500 Oxfordshire organisations with fully-funded energy assessments, and delivered over £125,000 in match-funding towards energy efficiency upgrades in the last financial year.
Managing premises for a small business, charity or community can be costly, confusing and seriously time-consuming. Because of this, energy usage might not always be at the top of the list for operations managers – and that’s why our Energy Solutions Oxfordshire programme is proving to be increasingly valuable for SMEs.

If you’re an SME in Oxfordshire, you can still apply for a free, in person energy assessment (normally worth £1,500). On average, organisations save 19% on their energy bills following an assessment from our experts.
In FY2025-26 Energy Solutions Oxfordshire (ESOx) significantly scaled, visiting 109 organisations across the county, providing bespoke energy saving advice and easy-to-understand reports. These in-person assessments (delivered at no cost to SMEs) are designed to simplify decisions and prompt action, making buildings more sustainable and saving on rising energy bills.

Low Carbon Hub provided £189,000 of community benefit funding from our renewable energy projects to support both energy assessments and follow-up capital grants from the Green Fund. £178,000 of external funding from four Oxfordshire District Councils and from Westmill Solar Cooperative was also secured, enabling the team to reach even more small organisations.
Our four quarterly Green Fund Boards awarded 25 organisations a total of £126,000 in grants, unlocking more than half a million pounds worth of low carbon projects (£539,000).

Organisations funded in FY25/26 include SME businesses (49%), charities (20%) and community buildings (31%).
Continued support for small organisations
With over 30,000 SMEs in Oxfordshire, and an estimated 20-30% of their energy usage wasted due to inefficiencies, there’s still lots of support our ESOx experts can offer. Fully-funded assessments and up to £10,000 in Green Funding will continue to be available throughout the next financial year.
