Social Impact Report 2017 out now

At the Low Carbon Hub, we’re really excited to be sharing our first ever Social Impact Report – an illustration of the progress we have made up to the end of the financial year 2016/17.

We mark our progress against four sets of indicators – planet, people, prosperity and perception and we think we’ve come a long way in five years.

Have a look at the full report here

Planet:
For our planet, we have doubled our installed capacity of renewable electricity year-on-year since 2012. Our installations now generate enough to power over 850 homes.

People:
Community energy is about people wanting change. Many people have been a part of Low Carbon Hub’s journey in its first five years: investor members, community shareholders, schools, businesses and project partners.

Prosperity:
Our projects can also create collective wealth. Our investors get a return on their investments, our host organisations get discounted electricity, and Low Carbon Hub receive a sustainable income stream to support and deliver community benefit.

Perception:
We also aim to be a transparent and trusted partner. We ran our first stakeholder survey in 2017 and are committed to asking for more feedback in the future.
